Leadership

He graduated with honours in Economics from the Modena University in 1984. He then attended business management courses. He collaborated with business associations contributing to research projects and studies and also served as professor.
He joined the Bank in 1984 and over the years he has held numerous leadership positions: in 1992 he was head of financial analysis at the Credit Department; after operating in the sales network, in 1996 he was chosen to launch the Corporate Finance segment; in 2005 he was in charge of the Equity Investments and Special Projects Service; in 2007 he took over the position of Central Manager serving as Head of the Strategies and Group Management Department; in 2008 he was appointed Vice General Manager; in 2010 he took over the position of General Manager of Banco di Sardegna.
On 1st July 2012 he returned to BPER serving as Vice General Manager and Chief Financial Officer. Since 16 April 2014 he has been holding the position of Managing Director of BPER.
He was Vice Chairman of Arca S.G.R. S.p.A. and Member of the Board of Directors of Arca Merchant S.p.A., Promac S.p.A., Finduck Group S.p.A., Imco S.p.A. and Alba Leasing S.p.A., as well as of companies of the BPER Group such as Meliorbanca S.p.A., Banca della Campania S.p.A. and Em.Ro. Popolare Società Finanziaria di Partecipazioni S.p.A.; he was Member of the Investment Committees of various Private Equity Funds.
He is Member of the Board and of the Executive Committee of ABI and Board Member of Fondo Interbancario di Tutela dei Depositi (FITD) and of Unione Fiduciaria S.p.A.

He holds the position of Board Member of BPER Services S.c.pa., a company belonging to the BPER Group.

He graduated in Economics from the Modena University in 1982. He has been employed with Banca Popolare di Modena since February 1978. From November 1982 to November 1984 he was given leave of absence to participate in international cooperation projects for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Central African Republic. In December 1984 he took up his duties again in various operating units in the Bank’s sales network. From July 1995 to June 1997 he was Head of the Business Affairs Department at Banca Popolare del Materano while this Bank was joining the BPER Group. From July 1997 to January 2000 he returned to the parent company first serving as sales expert for the Sales Department, then as Head of Human Resources.

From February 2000 to September 2003, he was Vice General Manager of Banca Popolare del Materano and at the same time, in 2001 and 2002, Member of the Board of Directors of Ritrimat S.p.A. From October 2003 to September 2004 he was Head of the Consumer Department project at Banca di Sassari, from October 2004 to December 2007 he was General Manager of Eurobanca del Trentino S.p.A. He was appointed Central Manager and served as Head of Operations of BPER from January 2008 to December 2010.
From January 2011 he has been Central Manager responsible for the Strategies and Group Management Department of BPER and on 10 November 2011 he was appointed Vice General Manager of BPER. From April 2011 to December 2012 he was Member of the Board of Directors of Banca della Campania S.p.A. He was Member of the Committee for Trade Union and Labour Affairs of ABI.

He currently holds the following positions in the BPER Group: Board Member of BPER Services S.c.pa., Banca di Sassari S.p.A., Nadia S.p.A., Tholos S.p.A. and of Modena Terminal S.r.l., companies belonging to the BPER Group.
He also holds the following positions: Chairman of Galilei Immobiliare S.r.l.; Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Internal Audit Committee of ICBPI S.p.A. - Istituto Centrale delle Banche Popolari Italiane

He graduated in Law from the Bologna University.

After a short period of apprenticeship at legal firms, he was hired by Banca Popolare di Cesena, where he became attorney-in-fact responsible for legal affairs.

He moved to Modena in 1996, after Banca Popolare di Cesena was merged into Banca Popolare dell’Emilia (renamed BPER). He held roles of increasing responsibility: first of all head of the Legal Affair Department, then of the General Secretary’s Office and, from January 2009, of the General Affairs Department.

In November 2010 he became General Secretary and Secretary of the Board of Directors in compliance with art. 35 of the current Articles of Association.
Since 1st April 2014 he has been Vice General Manager of BPER.
 
He represents the Bank and the Group in the Italian Banking Association (ABI – Associazione Bancaria Italiana) and in the Technical Committee for Banks and Regulatory Framework.
He is Board Member of Atrikè S.p.A.
